Authors dissertation and bias: In my opinion, the main thesis of Joseph Charless volume is that the debate on issues of foreign policy in the late 1700s, specifically the Jay Treaty, was a major cause of the makeup of political parties in the United States. I do non believe that Charles showed much bias in the moderate, but there are some slight biases.
