In A Game of cards and The Beginning of the Tournament written by Witi Ihamaera incidents occurred that portrayed, being close to state you love and apportion ab let on is important. In the fabrication The Beginning of the Tournament the key idea is portrayed through and through two woman field hockey teams p put downing each other. In A Game of Cards the key idea is shown when Nani matais friends and family crowd around her on her death bed.
In The Beginning of the Tournament the reader realises it is more important to draw fun with your friends and family than to win. An important incident that showed us this was when the women in the hockey teams turned up to play with only a fair time on their mind. We know this as the game contained what seemed to be no rules. There were women sitting on the b all, hacking at peoples shins and ankles, and picking up the ball and throwing it into the goal. Yet no one minded as everyone was having a good time.
The players in this tournament valued their friends and family over winning the game. They set out to have fun on the hockey field and they didnt let the lure of winning get in the room: This is a hockey tournament, yes, but more than that it is a family gathering. It was this fire that really showed us that being around the ones you love and care about is important.
