The Trial
Yesterday in the Maycomb Courthouse the struggle of tom Robinson had finally cut around. The defendant Tom Robinson and his lawyer Atticus Finch were trying to incline the jury that Tom Robinson didnt rape Mayella Ewell which thats what he was accused of. The prosecutor tail Ewell, Mayella Ewell and their lawyer Mr. Gilmer. The courtroom was change with a lot of people from both races; it looked like the biggest trial in Maycombs history.
Mr. Bob Ewell was the initiative person to be put on the stand and have his testimony. He was really hesitant when he first got on the stand when he wasnt fully admitting to the questions when asked is Mayella Ewell your daughter. He stated that he truism Tom Robinson molesting Mayella and he got away as he ran in. He state that the room had looked like there had been a mesh in that has messed the whole room up. One of the biggest parts of Mr. Bob Ewells testimony was that Atticus Finch the defendants lawyer asked Mr. Ewell to write his ca-ca on a piece of paper but he only did it to find out that Mr. Ewell was left handed. Another meaning(a) moment was when Mr. Ewell got asked why he didnt call a doctor for Mayella; he then hesitated for a bit and said I didnt want to leave Mayella.
Next Mayella came to the stand, the first thing that Mayella was asked was what Tom Robinson did to her, she said that Tom choked her, sweetheart her and took advantage of her. When Atticus was asking Mayella questions he kept craft her Miss Mayella and Mayella thought he was mocking her because she doesnt fill in polite language. She was very hesitant with some of the questions she was asked like what did Tom Robinson do to you? As Atticus got more aggressive with his questions after in the testimony Mayella wasnt answering, all she was saying was no comment…. no comment… no comment was naughty for her which shocked everyone because no black person ever feels glowering for a white woman.
